What is Greek philotimo?
The Greek word “philotimo” describes an attitude of empathy, compassion, and generosity without expecting anything in return—doing what is right and honorable while being humble at the same time. Philotimo is the virtue of heroes.
In today’s troubled times, we can all agree on at least this: We need more heroes. All it takes is a little philotimo.
